Course north towards Jade Bay

The approximately 54-kilometer route leads from Rastede via Wiefelstede and Varel to the Jade Bay. Numerous fish restaurants invite you to rest here in the harbor. From the dike you can already take a first look at the quiet zones of the Wadden Sea National Park hidden behind it. The Wadden Sea is recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage Commission as a World Heritage Site. In Jaderberg there is the possibility to visit the Jaderpark.

Highlights:

  • Beachclub Nethen (Nethen): Here cyclists will find a dreamy white sandy beach, tropical parasols and crystal clear water. A café and snack bar offer food and drinks right by the entry-fee bathing lake. Especially when the weather is nice in summer it is the perfect place for a little rest. The beach club has a water ski facility and a dog beach.
  • The Varel harbor offers berths for private pleasure boats and is the home port of individual fishing trawlers, a location for businesses and a tourist attraction. Cyclists can enjoy fish in a fresh sea breeze in the various restaurants.
  • The Jaderpark in Jaderberg is a privately owned zoo and leisure park. The park is divided into four thematic areas: the zoo, the amusement park, the adventure park and the fun park. The family-friendly Jaderpark is an ideal destination for young and old and is easy to get to by bike.
